This year, marks our Second-Annual Financial Literacy Forum in celebration of Financial Literacy Month. The Financial Literacy Forum celebrates the partnerships My Money Workshop has made and the impact we have made for our communities.

Katrina Dudley

Emcee: Katrina Dudley

Ms. Dudley is currently Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Investment Strategist at Franklin Templeton Investments, one of the world’s largest asset managers, where she co-manages the Franklin Mutual Global Discovery and Franklin Mutual European Funds.  She joined the Mutual Series investment team in November 2002. In addition to her portfolio management responsibilities, Ms. Dudley’s research responsibilities have been diverse but currently focus on global industrial companies.  Prior to joining Mutual Series, Ms. Dudley was an investment analyst at Federated Investors, Inc. covering the technology and health care sectors. From 1995 to 2001, she worked in the corporate finance division of Ernst & Young LLP where she specialized in valuation and litigation consulting. Ms. Dudley is also the Co-author of Undiversified: The Big Gender Short in Investment Management.

Katrina Dudley, CFA, CAIA is a dynamic, experienced, deep-value, global equity portfolio manager with an outstanding track record of identifying real success drivers for target investments and applying commercial insights to deliver investor returns.   Ms. Dudley has a demonstrated history of actively engaging with management teams across multiple industrial segments and advocating either in person or in writing for companies to implement value creating strategies that benefit shareholders.  

Ms. Dudley has a passion for advocating for women in investment management. She has mentored many up-and-coming female investment professionals, speaking at industry sponsored events encouraging more women to enter the investment management industry, and works with female executives at industrial companies to increase their familiarity with Wall Street. She is the author of the introduction to the Vault Career Guide to Mutual Funds, and her upcoming book, co-authored with Columbia Business School Adjunct Professor Carr, “Undiversified: The Big Gender Short in Investment Management”. Ms. Dudley is a frequent guest on Bloomberg television.

Ms. Dudley earned an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business, a Law degree (with first class honors) and a Commerce degree from Bond University (Australia), and an Associate of Science degree (Computer Science) from the University of the People. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter holder and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA). Within her community, she is a board member of the CFA Society of New York, Vice-Chair of the Board of The Children’s Village, a member of the AEI Leadership Network, an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University, a Guest Lecturer at the NYU Stern School of Business, a member of the Management Advisory Committee of the NYU Michael Price Student Investment Fund, a member of the Digital Faculty of Portfolios with Purpose and a member of the Global Advisory Board of the Women in Finance & Investment Network.

Nichol King serves the Harlem community as the Community Manager for Chase Bank’s first-of-its-kind community style branch. Known affectionately as “Harlem’s Banker,” Nichol has been a fixture in the Harlem community for decades as an influencer, mentor and financial literacy advocate.

Her role at the Harlem branch is pioneering programs to support financial health, hosting education and enrichment workshops focused on unique community needs, and supporting growth for entrepreneurs who are starting or expanding their businesses in the neighborhood. Winston Berkman-Breen

Director of Consumer Advocacy

Winston Berkman-Breen is the Director of Consumer Advocacy at the Department of Financial Services. In this role, he proposes and advances consumer protection policies and advises on consumer matters across the business units, including regulatory action, enforcement investigations, and community engagement. He is also the Department’s Student Loan Advocate and works with its Student Protection Unit staff to respond to student loan borrower needs and to address emerging education finance issues, including processing borrower complaints and investigating lending and servicing practices. Prior to joining DFS, Winston worked in legal services, with a focus on affirmative and defensive litigation related to debt collection, student loans, and foreclosure. He was a Justice Catalyst Fellow and Staff Attorney with the Consumer Protection Unit at the New York Legal Assistance Group, and was a Fellow with the Project on Predatory Student Lending at the Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School.

Jessica Reinman

Jessica Reinmann is the founder, chairman and CEO of 914 Cares, Inc a not for profit organization located in Westchester County NY.  The organization focuses on ensuring that neighbors living in need are cared for.  Jessica is known as expert on Poverty in Westchester county and frequently speaks on panels regarding the issue. 

Prior to founding 914 Cares Jessica worked briefly as a real estate attorney in NYC and in the administrative side of law firm management. For over 12 years, she worked in a number of development and management advisory capacities at two top 100 law firms.

Kara Smith is a dedicated advocate for justice and is passionate about elevating community voice through storytelling by ways of policy and data. Prior to joining the South Bronx Rising Together, she worked for a collective impact initiative in Michigan focusing on birth equity outcomes for Black and Latinx women and children. Kara completed her BSW and BA in sociology at Calvin University and earned her MSSA from Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in policy and research.
